Your vehicle came in with concerns of inner tire wear, eating tires, pulling, and shaking while driving. Before performing a front-end alignment, our normal process is to inspect the steering and suspension because an alignment cannot be performed properly or safely if there are loose or worn front-end components. This initial inspection/alignment check was performed at no charge so we could determine whether the vehicle could be safely aligned. During that inspection, we found multiple safety concerns that were present when the vehicle arrived. The driver side lower ball joint had severe play, both tie rods had play, and the driver side front tire had cords showing. These conditions can affect steering, alignment, tire wear, pulling, shaking, noise, and overall vehicle safety. After the severely worn ball joint was shown and explained as a major safety concern, the claim was made that our shop must have loosened it. However, that does not align with the documented inspection findings. The worn ball joint, tie rod play, and unsafe tire condition were found during the initial front-end inspection before any alignment could be performed. Our technician reviewed the findings with you, our service advisor reviewed them with you, and management also took time to explain the concerns so you could make an informed decision. We did not tell you that you were required to approve $3,000 worth of work. We presented separate repair options, including Good, Better, and Best tire options, as well as a safety-focused option, so you could decide what made the most sense for your budget. The most urgent concerns were the severely worn ball joint and the unsafe tire condition. Financing was only mentioned as an available option because unexpected repairs can be expensive. There was no pressure or obligation. We remain available to review the documented findings with you, answer any questions, and assist with repair options if you choose to move forward. Our goal was to inform you of serious safety concerns before sending you back on the road, not to pressure you into unnecessary repairs.

Death wobble can be caused by multiple worn steering and suspension components, particularly on modified Jeeps. Our responsibility is to identify every safety and wear item we observe and provide recommendations that restore the vehicle's steering and suspension system—not simply address one symptom. After carefully reviewing the inspection, photos, and documentation from your visit, we stand behind the recommendations we provided. During our inspection, we documented multiple worn components with photos, including worn control arm bushings and steering and suspension components that required attention. While two ball joints showed obvious wear, we recommended replacing all four as a best practice rather than replacing only part of the set. That recommendation is based on industry standards and our commitment to long-term reliability. After our inspection and recommendations were presented, you advised us which specific parts you wanted replaced based on your own research. We respected your decision and completed only the repairs you authorized. We never perform repairs that have not been approved by the customer. You also stated that our estimate included a part that "does not exist" on your vehicle. The steering stabilizer included on the estimate was a compatible component for your aftermarket suspension system. It was not a recommendation for a nonexistent part. Ultimately, you chose to authorize only a portion of the repairs we recommended. We respect every customer's budget and will only perform the work that has been approved. The repairs we completed were the repairs you specifically authorized. When only selected components are replaced on a vehicle with multiple documented worn parts, we cannot guarantee that the original concern will be completely resolved. We're glad to hear your vehicle is now operating better. However, that does not mean the additional worn components we documented were unnecessary or did not require attention. Our recommendations were based on the condition of the vehicle at the time of our inspection and were supported by documented findings.
